The Young Adults at First ministry is more than a Bible study or social group. Our heart's desire is to bring people closer in their relationship with God and to build meaningful friendships with other believers to navigate the challenges of our culture. If you are curious about God and need a safe space to ask questions…welcome. If you are newer to the faith and excited to learn and grow…welcome. If you have been on this faith journey with Jesus for some time now but want to deepen that relationship and develop the gifts God has given you…welcome. Every young adult is welcome here as we journey the road together to connect with God and one another.

Young Adults @ First - Love Lodi Service Project

Saturday, 4/25, 9 am to 2 pm. Our police training facility serves as a vital resource for the department and the community. This is where our K9 teams train weekly, where prospective officers participate in recruitment testing, where tactical training exercises are conducted, and where our officers complete their annual physical fitness evaluations to ensure they are prepared to serve the City of Lodi at the highest level. To help maintain and enhance this important space, we are requesting volunteer assistance with: Minor yard maintenance (weed abatement, trimming, general cleanup) Painting an outdoor structure on the property These improvements are primarily aesthetic and preventative in nature but will significantly enhance the overall appearance, usability, and pride in the facility

Pastor of Young Adults (and Director of Care & Discipleship)

Hey all! My name is John Shinn, and I have the enormous blessing of being the Young Adults Pastor here at First (as well as a few other hats). I am married to my fantastic wife Jacquie and have two kids, Ellie Grace and JD. I believe there is no greater spiritual development time than this chapter of life. Often, for the first time, young adults navigate the world with newfound freedom and independence while determining how to integrate their faith with how they establish their lives. Whether it is work, college, dating, or just figuring out who they will be in life (character, not career), I am excited to walk alongside you through the process of learning how to authentically follow Jesus and truly own your faith. I look forward to you joining us on this sometimes overwhelming but genuinely amazing chapter of life.
