Here at FIRST we offer a variety of Short Term Missions Trips throughout the year.

THEREFORE, GO!

When Jesus says, “Therefore, go…,” he’s not just talking about a far-off place or a future season. He’s inviting us into a way of life. A posture of being sent. Right where we are, and wherever God may lead next.

As part of our Therefore, Go journey, we’re beginning to shape short-term mission opportunities for the year ahead. Some of these trips are already starting to come into focus. Others are still forming. All of them begin the same way: with people willing to say, Here am I. Send me.

2026 | Mission Trips

INT’L. MISSION BOARD - PERU
WHEN: Saturday, August 1 through Saturday, August 8, 2026.
 
WHERE: Lima, Peru (South America)


WHO: No prior experience, knowledge, special skills/abilities are required. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.
 
PURPOSE/ACTIVITY: Come help Morada de Dios Magdalena church have a presence in their neighborhood and gain entry into new communities. Our desire is to be a light amongst the 90% Catholic population in Lima. Bring your skills, servant hearts, and join our team to reach Peruvians and Venezuelans for Jesus.

COST: $1,800, includes airfare from Sacramento to Lima.

Children of Faith Mission - INDIA
WHEN: Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 11
 
WHERE: Visahapatnam, India

WHO: Open to all with a Christ-centered, service-oriented, and teachable spirit who would like to support the ministry and needs of Children of Faith Mission.  Special emphasis on serving India’s children.
 
PURPOSE/ACTIVITY: Support the ongoing holistic work of Children of Faith through special Children’s ministry (VBS, Sports Camp, Kids Programs, etc.).  Offer support, encouragement, and training to local church and education leaders.  Minister in the local villages of predominately Hindu region.  Part of this mission experience is to be an ongoing advocate and supporter of Children of Faith Mission and other like-minded ministries in India, even after returning home.

COST: 
Approx. $2,200-$2400 (including Singapore Air flights from SFO to VZT)
 
MISC. - Glen and Jani will likely extend 3-4 days to add a visit to Learning to Hope and Grace English School


Living Water Well Drilling - AFRICA
WHEN: Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 25, 2026 (10 days)  

WHERE: Kigali, Rwanda (Africa)

WHO: No prior experience, knowledge, special skills/abilities are required.  Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

PURPOSE/ACTIVITY: Drill a fresh water well (or a similar water project)

ORGANIZING AGENCY: Living Water, Int’l. water.cc/whygo

COST: 
Approx. $4,000 (incl. airfare, etc.)

MISC. - 2-3 Day Safari extension available (add’l. $2,000)


RED RHINO ORPHANAGE - AFRICA
WHEN: Tentatively the first week of November, 2026 (8 days)  
 
WHERE: Kenya (Africa)


WHO: No prior experience, knowledge, special skills/abilities are required.  Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.
 
PURPOSE/ACTIVITY: No projects. More visiting/experiencing the Red Rhino facilities and orphanages. Possible activities include testimonials and sharing the gospel in places TBD.

COST: 
Approx. $3500 (incl. airfare, housing, etc.)
 
MISC. - 1 Day Safari extension available (add’l. $TBD)

This form isn’t a sign-up for a specific trip, and it isn’t a commitment. It’s simply a way to let us know you’re interested. Curious. Prayerful. Open to learning more as opportunities take shape.

Right now, we’re especially looking for leaders who may feel a nudge to help shape and guide these trips. As details emerge, each opportunity will take on its own life, with more information shared here and with those who’ve expressed interest.
